In the spring of 2023, in the run-up to the Cannes Film Festival, La Plage du Martinez revealed its new concept in collaboration with Hotel Martinez chef Jean Imbert.
La Plage du Martinez has unveiled more than just a new décor, a metamorphosis with the allure of a chic, timeless boat deck with Chef Jean Imbert at the helm. A key figure in French cuisine on the international scene, he has been involved down to the smallest detail, right down to the 150 names of the personalities that adorn the backs of the directors’ chairs, designed by architect Rémi Tessier. Nothing has been left to chance: Bernardaud tableware specially designed for the table, Biot glasses, signature leather coasters…, and everywhere a decor with a yachting chic ambience, awakening a nautical spirit with old-fashioned charm. Brass, lacquered wood and touches of deep blue blend together between the interior and the spacious terrace overlooking the famous pontoon. A chic, relaxed ambience, the Mediterranean ‘way of life’ that the Chef wanted to bring to the plate too: “We chose a convivial table setting, with copper and earthenware dishes for certain proposals, in which diners help themselves and share”. The menu features sun-drenched starters, seafood from the local catch of the day, braised or baked recipes, and dishes with a slightly regressive touch, such as ‘La Tomate Farcie de Mamie’: “I want to tell a story about the Riviera and its products, while getting off the beaten track”. On the plate, you’ll savor an authentic Riviera, with its sunny accents supported by local, seasonal produce unearthed by the on-site team, like the zucchini flowers harvested that very morning and served at lunchtime, stuffed with ricotta…
